1.    Branch Treasurer 

(Volunteer, possibly Trustee role)

This is a significant opportunity to transform animal welfare provision in the South Bucks area.

The right candidate will make a difference for local animals suffering from cruelty or neglect by managing Branch income and expenditure as part of a successful team of Trustees, staff at four shops and volunteers who all strive to promote responsible pet ownership. The Branch neuter, chip and rehome hundreds of local animals a year.

You will have a key role in developing an annual budget and operational strategy. Duties include overseeing and working alongside our accountant covering:

Book keeping, payroll, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and review of the year end accounts. VAT returns, internet banking, investments to gain the best possible returns. Reclaiming gift aid and neutering allowances, Knowledge and access to a spread sheet package and email, good admin and communications skills are also essential.

2.    Charity Shop Volunteers 

Location:
Buckinghamshire South Branch
Charity shops in the following locations:

    - 47 Hill Avenue, Amersham, HP6 5BX
    - 68 High Street, Burnham, SL1 7JT

    - 47 High Street, Chesham, HP5 1BW
    - 10 High Street, Princes Risborough, HP27 0AX

Number of vacancies: 
Several across the 4 sites

Purpose of position:
To help in the charity shop selling goods to raise funds for local animal welfare.
 

Key activities:
General everyday shop duties including using till and handling cash, customer service, answering telephone calls from the general public, tidying the shop floor, sorting donations, steaming and pricing goods.   

Period of volunteering and time:
Flexible but ideally a minimum “shift” of a morning or afternoon and an ongoing commitment is preferred.  

Experience/skills/knowledge/personal qualities required:
Common sense along with a sense of humour, reliability and able to work with other people.  Shop experience would be useful.  There will be some lifting and carrying. The shops provide a social environment in which volunteers can make a real contribution to animal welfare.

 Training given:
Any necessary training will be provided by the shop manager.

3.    Volunteer Street/Shopping Centre Collection Days Co-Ordinator 

Location:
RSPCA Buckinghamshire South
The branch run a very successful rehoming operation and last year rescued and homed over 400 dogs, cats and small animals.  We do not have an animal centre but use private boarding kennels for some of our dogs and have an extensive network of fosterers for other animals. 

Number of vacancies: 1

Purpose of position:
To raise funds to support the work of the branch, by street/shopping centre collections.
 

Key activities:
To contact district councils to arrange permit and date for the collection.  To contact branch volunteers by phone or email to arrange collectors for the actual day.
 

Period of volunteering:
Flexible.

Time and preferred duration of commitment:
Flexible.
 

Training given:
All necessary support and guidance will be given.
 

Experience/skills/personal qualities required:
Animal lover who has enthusiasm with good communication skills, is committed and reliable. Car is essential and computer an advantage.
 

Volunteer’s expenses:
Approved out of pocket expenses can be paid.
